Get Out e Stranger Things lideram indicações ao MTV Movie & TV Awards

A MTV acaba de anunciar os indicados, por categoria, para o primeiro MTV Movie & TV Awards 2017 – celebrando atores, histórias e momentos que marcaram a cultura pop no último ano. As votações já estão abertas no MTV.com. O comediante e ator Adam Devine irá apresentar a premiação, ao vivo, direto do Shrine Auditorium, em Los Angeles, Califórnia, no domingo, dia 07 de maio, a partir das 21h, com transmissão, ao vivo, para o Brasil.

“A MTV irá, mais uma vez, celebrar a cultura jovem homenageando suas paixões”, comenta Chris McCarthy, presidente da MTV, VH1 e Logo. “Estamos muito felizes em ter Adam Devine como host do MTV Movie and TV Awards, premiação em que comemoramos as melhores histórias, atores e personagens mais amados pela nossa audiência”.

Adam Devine está se tornando um dos comediantes mais requisitados, em todo o mundo. Devine é mais conhecido como co-criador, escritor e uma das estrelas da série Workaholics, do Comedy Central – série que recentemente terminou em sua 17ª e última temporada. Devine estrelou ao lado de Zac Efron em Os Caça-Noivas, e pode ser visto em Magic Camp vivendo Andy.

O filme Get Out lidera com 6 indicações, incluindo Filme do ano (apresentado pelo Toyota C-HR), Melhor vilão e Melhor luta contra o sistema. Estrela desta produção, David Kaluuya, faz sua estreia em premiações com a indicação de Melhor Ator – Filme, Nova Geração e Melhor parceria, com Lil Rel Howery. A Bela e a Fera e Stranger Things tem 4 indicações cada. Atlanta, Game of Thrones, Além do Tempo, Logan, Moonlight e This Is Us aparecem com 3 indicações cada.

Os indicados deste ano trazem novidades nas categorias já conhecidas, e os fãs podem também esperar por novas categorias. As preferidas permanecem, entre elas, Melhor beijo, Melhor herói e Melhor vilão. Mas a MTV decidiu separar entre filme, televisão e streaming, ao invés de premiar os melhores de cada categoria, independente do formato. Também pela primeira vez, as categorias Melhor ator e Melhor atriz foram substituídas por Melhor Ator – filme e Melhor Ator – TV, sem distinção de gênero.

A categoria Melhor luta, foi atualizada para Melhor luta contra o sistema – refletindo a lado ativista da audiência que cada vez mais está engajada em temas sociais. Outras novidades são as novas e oportunas categorias como: Melhor história americana, que vai premiar a melhor história sobre diversidade e sobre uma América mais aberta; Tearjerker, categoria que celebra e premia a conexão emocional que os fãs têm com os personagens, Melhor host, que destaca personalidades que melhor dialogam com os jovens de hoje, Melhor reality de competição e Nova geração. Outras categorias serão apresentadas em data mais próxima ao evento.
